Megunticook Trail Festival

Mount Megunticook stands 1,385 feet above the Maine coast. The Megunticook Trail Festival directs runners onto the trails surrounding it within Camden Hills State Park. This September race series offers three distances: the Wicked Tough 10K, the Halfast 20K, and the Megunticook 50K. It is a trail-running event with limited entries, not a large road race. The 10K features steep singletrack and 1,600 feet of elevation gain. The 20K primarily uses wide gravel paths, making it suitable for less experienced trail runners and faster racers seeking open terrain. The 50K crosses over 90 percent of the park's trail network. Mount Megunticook ranks as the second-highest peak on the Atlantic Coast, and the courses provide runners with vistas of Penobscot Bay and the open ocean.
