The Memorial Main Street Mile is a chip-timed one-mile race on Main Street in historic Yardley Borough, Pennsylvania, held as part of the Memorial Day weekend. The main race starts early in the morning at Wells Fargo Bank on South Main Street, and a kids race for ages 6 to 14 goes off just before it. Walkers and strollers are welcome, with slower participants asked to line up at the back.
The route is simple: one straight mile through Yardley, finishing at the Yardley Friends Meeting House on North Main Street. The race benefits American Legion Post 317 and is hosted by the Yardley Borough Parks and Recreation Board. Awards go to the top three runners in each age group, based on chip net time, with a short ceremony after the race on the meeting house grounds. Runners need to finish within 20 minutes to count for awards, and the full course closes after 30 minutes.
