Monster Mash & Dash 5K Glow Run

The Monster Mash & Dash 5K Glow Run is a Halloween-themed race series offering 5K and 10K distances, with an evening run held in Louisville. For 13 years, the organizers have hosted these races, varying the theme with each edition. Previous themes have featured Dracula, spiders, skeletons, Frankenstein, aliens, witches, and monsters. This event is structured more like a family Halloween night than a competitive runners' event. Approximately 70% of participants wear costumes, and walkers, dogs, and strollers are permitted. The event includes games and a children's run. Participants receive glow sticks and necklaces, and collector bibs can be exchanged for food and drinks at the finish line. The theme extends to the event's extras, including matching music, expo elements, food, gifts, Monster Energy Drinks, Monster cookies, and a neck/head buff for runners.
