Montage Wellness - Sand City Criterium 2026

The Montage Wellness - Sand City Criterium is a short, technical bike race in Sand City, a warehouse district on California's Monterey Bay. It is a criterium, meaning riders complete multiple laps on a closed loop rather than a single point-to-point route. The lap is just over 1 km, but it includes 10 corners, making bike handling and positioning as important as speed. The loop passes through Sand City's art district, with dozens of murals by local artists. Approximately 500 racers and spectators attend, with 12 races scheduled. Juniors from age 9, masters riders in their 60s and 70s, amateurs, elites, and pros all compete on the same course. The men's and women's pro races conclude the event. Coureur Monterey Bay Racing Team organizes the event, supported by local sponsors Montage Health, Taylor Farms, and The Don Chapin Company.
