Moonlight Glow 5K

The Moonlight Glow 5K is a Saturday-night race at Veteran's Park in Wapakoneta, beginning at 9:15 p.m. It kicks off the three-race Moon City Challenge, which also includes Rocket To The Moon and Run to the Moon. The race embraces its night setting: runners receive glow-in-the-dark shirts, can earn a Glow In The Dark medal, and are encouraged to wear glowing necklaces, bracelets, shoelaces, or other light-up accessories. The 5K uses a cross-country start and runs mostly on grass through the park, making it unsuitable for strollers. A one-mile Twinkle Trot is also offered on pavement, with its own later start. Veteran's Park is located at the south end of Wagner Street and provides ample parking for participants. Runners can register for the full Moon City Challenge bundle, and the additional Challenge Medal is awarded at the third race; virtual runners can also qualify for it, with a mailing fee for medals.
