The Myrtle Mile is a one-mile race held at Grand Lake within Market Commons in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The start and finish lines are located at Forbus Ct Shelter B. Packet pickup on race day is available nearby at Shelter A, prior to the morning start. Participants can select competitive divisions for adults and children, or opt for a relaxed fun run/walk. Separate categories exist for ages 14 and up, and ages 13 and under.
The event accommodates families: the fun run/walk permits strollers, and children aged 3 and under participate at no charge. Registered runners will receive post-race refreshments. The competitive race includes an awards ceremony and has a one-hour time limit, whereas the fun run offers a more flexible timeframe. Proceeds benefit Ryzon Refuge, a Horry County nonprofit organization. This faith-based group aids mothers and children facing homelessness via Ryzon Redeemery, its thrift store, and a planned community of tiny homes. These homes will provide kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas for single mothers and their children.
