The Night Crawler Endurance Challenge is an overnight trail race held on Casper Mountain in Wyoming. It begins Friday evening and concludes Saturday morning at an elevation of 8,100 feet. Participants can choose between a 4-hour solo run, a 12-hour solo run, or a 12-hour four-person relay. This is a time-based event focused on completing the most laps before the time limit expires. It serves as central Wyoming's sole overnight, time-based race for solo runners and relay teams, with all participants running under headlamp and moonlight.
The race is headquartered at the Nordic stadium, adjacent to the Casper Mountain Trails Center. This area functions as a base for crews to set up tents, hammocks, chairs, and food, and to rest between laps. The course features forested singletrack and cross-country ski trails, presenting minimal to moderate technical challenges. Runners reverse direction each lap, alternating between clockwise and counterclockwise movement. Camping is integrated into the weekend's arrangements, with reservable sites within the county park and at Tower Hill campground located along the course. The event is part of a larger Casper Mountain race weekend, which includes a cross-country mountain bike race held after the overnight run.
