ÖTILLÖ Swimrun Austin takes place at Camp Texlake in Austin, Texas, near the close of the ÖTILLÖ season. Competitors wear shoes and swim gear, transitioning between running and open-water swimming rather than completing a single long run followed by a single long swim. The primary World Series distance covers 25k total, comprising 20k of running and 5k of swimming. Shorter distances are available: a 15k Sprint with 12k running and 3k swimming, and a 10k Experience race featuring 8k running and 2k swimming.
The Austin event attracts both dedicated swimrunners and individuals new to the sport. One past edition saw 251 participants, including a 10-year-old competing in the Experience Team category alongside her mother, and a 13-year-old who won the Sprint Team category with his father. Alexander Berggren established the World Series course record at 2:36:34. Team categories had distinct men's, women's, and mixed winners. This race is a component of the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun World Series and acts as a qualifier for ÖTILLÖ, The Swimrun World Championship, held in the Swedish archipelago.
