The Presque Isle Sprint Triathlon takes place entirely within Presque Isle State Park in Erie, Pennsylvania. The swim, transition area, and finish are all located at Beach 10. This is a sprint-distance triathlon offering individual and relay categories, open to participants from teenagers to older adults. It begins in the morning, following race-day check-in at the beach.
The race commences with a swim in Lake Erie. Participants then cycle around the entire Presque Isle peninsula before concluding with a run on a section of the park’s paved trail. The park is a National Natural Landmark and a Pennsylvania state park, meaning the course remains within this protected lakeside area instead of crossing city streets. This event has been a fixture on the Erie race schedule for over twenty years, and it is coordinated by the Presque Isle Partnership and ALFA Endurance.
