RAD Half Marathon & 10K

The RAD Half Marathon & 10K begins in Downtown Asheville, North Carolina, and concludes in the city’s River Arts District alongside the French Broad River. Participants select either 13.1 miles or 6.2 miles, with both races commencing early morning and utilizing the same course cutoff. The routes are USATF sanctioned and certified, chip timed, clearly marked, and designed with a net elevation loss, making the event suitable for runners aiming for a personal best and those seeking a guided tour through Asheville’s art district. The course transitions from central Asheville into RAD, where studios, makers, and local businesses define the finish area’s atmosphere. The race collaborates with the River Arts District Artists Foundation, and runners may include a donation during registration to aid local artists, including the art community recovering from Hurricane Helene. The weekend also features an artisan market and a mini race expo for packet pickup, local vendors, and handmade goods. Finishers receive a custom medal, overall and age-group winners are awarded locally sourced prizes, and the post-race gathering includes live music, food trucks, local artists, and a Hi-Wire Brewing beer for participants 21 and older.
