The Red Tutu Trot is a 5k run/walk in Madison, Wisconsin, with a virtual option. The in-person event starts from Lot 60 at 801 Walnut Street on the UW-Madison campus, runs in October, and keeps the setup simple: students can enter at a lower price, the public can join too, and the crowd is aimed at students, families, and Badger fans.
The race is tied to Cardiac on Campus, a group founded after Jon Derynda’s death, and its money goes into heart-safety work around UW-Madison. Proceeds pay for free CPR/AED certification classes, help place AEDs in campus buildings, and support free ECG screening drives. The group has placed 11 AEDs, screened more than 973 people with ECGs, found 37 abnormal rhythms, and certified more than 2,100 people in CPR. The red tutu theme gives the event its visible hook, with official race shirts sold as part of the fundraiser.
