About
The San Diego Triathlon Classic begins and ends at Liberty Station, featuring a swim in the calm waters of San Diego Bay. This September race weekend centers on triathlon, offering athletes shorter or simpler alternatives: Olympic and sprint triathlons, aquabike, duathlon, aquathlon, a 3-person Olympic relay, and the San Diego 5K run.
The Olympic triathlon includes a 1500-meter swim, 40K bike, and 10K run. The sprint version consists of a 500-meter swim, 20K bike, and 5K run. Cyclists will pass through Point Loma and Rosecrans National Cemetery. Runners will use Liberty Station’s waterfront trails, and the 5K route is flat, fast, and goes by a retired battleship. The event concludes with post-race festivities and participant giveaways.
