The Santa Fe Striders Running Festival is a summer cross-country race day held at the Municipal Recreation Sports Complex in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The primary events are a 5K and 10K for participants aged 12 and older, with nearly all of both courses crossing trails or dirt roads, featuring only a brief paved section. The festival also offers free races for younger participants, ranging from 200 meters for ages 3-4 to 2 miles for ages 11-14.
The event is organized by the Santa Fe Striders, a volunteer-run nonprofit club established in 1978 to promote running and healthy lifestyles in Northern New Mexico. The club hosts weekly group runs, social gatherings, and local races. Proceeds from these races benefit the SFS Scholarship and local charities, such as Wings of America’s Native American running program. Prizes are awarded to the top male, female, and non-binary finishers, masters competitors aged 40 and above, and standard 10-year age-group winners.
