The Seacoast Half Marathon begins and ends at Portsmouth High School in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Walkers start at 8:00 AM, followed by runners at 8:30 AM. This paved-road half marathon is open to runners, joggers, and walkers, and has previously seen just under 1,200 participants finish.
The course loops through Portsmouth and the neighboring towns of Rye and New Castle. It passes by the harbor, saltwater marshes, woodlands, and the rugged coastline. The route is largely fast and flat, featuring gentle rolling hills and approximately 61 feet of total elevation change, with several points near sea level. Roads remain open to vehicles, so participants should be aware of traffic, and volunteers will guide cars along the course. After covering expenses, all proceeds benefit Gather, a local nonprofit dedicated to ending hunger in the Greater Seacoast region.
