Seattle Kraken 5K

Seattle's Green Lake Park hosts the Seattle Kraken 5K, a 3.1-mile run/walk marking the start of the Kraken hockey season. The event is designed for both runners and walkers, featuring pace-based waves for the main 5K and a separate free Kids Dash for children 12 and under. Funds raised benefit the Kraken Hockey Fights Cancer Fund, positioning the event as a team-community fundraiser rather than a typical road race. The race day features a costume contest, awards, and a beer garden following the initial waves. Faster runners begin first, with walkers in their own final wave. Families can take advantage of reduced youth pricing or the free dash, avoiding the need to register every child for the 5K. Everett Fitzhugh will host the event, joined by members of the Kraken broadcast team, Buoy, and other team guests. A virtual 5K option is also available, including a bib, event shirt, and finisher medal mailed to participants who complete the run in their own neighborhood.
