Socksquatch 8K

SOCKSQUATCH 8K is a Saturday morning 8K held in Gibsonville, North Carolina. The start and finish are located at 1450 Graham Street in Burlington. This is the race's third year, and it begins at 8:00 AM. The event offers a straightforward format: a single 8K race with an affordable registration fee. The race's character is derived from its baseball connection. Participants receive a race shirt, admission to that evening's Burlington Sock Puppets game, and a complimentary hot dog. All proceeds benefit the Alamance Animal Shelter. A unique race-day feature, and perhaps the most memorable, is that any runner who slides into home plate will have 30 seconds deducted from their finishing time.
