The Southern Utah Half Marathon is a March half marathon held in Washington and St. George, Utah. It begins at Highland Park and concludes in Bloomington Park. The initial four miles descend approximately 500 feet, offering runners a steep downhill start before the course transitions to a more gradual decline, nearly level.
A wheelchair half marathon division is also part of the event. The route continues downhill through Washington City before merging with the paved Virgin River Trail for the last nine miles. Featuring no significant climbs and a consistent descent, the course is ideal for those aiming for a fast half marathon time. Aid stations are positioned regularly, providing water, Gnarly Hydration, gels, restrooms, and fruit at designated points. Runners finishing within four hours earn medals, while all participants receive shirts. Age-group and overall awards contribute to the local racing club atmosphere.
