The Standing Boy Trail Festival is a three-day trail running event held at Standing Boy Trails in Columbus, Georgia. It features a Friday night uphill 5K, a Saturday 10-miler, a Canicross 10-miler, and a Sunday 50K. The 5K is an out-and-back run in the dark, covering approximately 400 feet of elevation gain, requiring participants to use a headlamp or other light source. The 10-miler follows a single lap of the main trail loop, while the 50K consists of three laps of the same 10-mile loop, with a 9.5-hour time limit.
The course is designed with smooth, flowing singletrack alongside the Chattahoochee River. The loop configuration brings runners back to the start/finish area after each lap, allowing 50K participants to utilize a drop bag. A well-supplied aid station is also provided. The Canicross race begins five minutes after the standard 10-miler and crosses the loop in the reverse direction to minimize congestion. Participants may enter a single race, multiple races, or the entire weekend event; all finishers receive a race-specific medal. Proceeds benefit the Standing Boy Trail System. Additionally, runners completing both the Bootlegger 100 and the Standing Boy 50K are entered into a raffle for a Western States 100 entry.
