Superbowl Tailgate Trot 10K

The Superbowl Tailgate Trot 10K begins and ends at the Lehigh Valley Road Runners clubhouse in Lehigh Parkway, Allentown. This 10K race takes place on Super Bowl Sunday morning, with a two-hour completion limit. Runners aged 10 and up can participate. Established in 2002, the event serves as a pre-game ritual for those wanting to complete their run before the football festivities begin. The course winds through Lehigh Parkway and adjacent neighborhoods, with some sections shared with local traffic. While intersections along Lehigh Parkway East will have barricades, residents might still pass through. Participants are reminded to obey traffic laws during the race. The competition includes age-group runners, Masters competitors, and overall contenders. Top male and female finishers receive cash prizes, while age-group winners get gift certificates from local running shops. The event also gathers food donations for the Allentown Rescue Mission, specifically requesting cereal, canned produce, coffee, sugar, bouillon, and marinara sauce.
