The Tampa Bay 100 is a 100-mile point-to-point urban ultramarathon beginning in Ybor City and concluding across the bay in St. Petersburg. Now in its third edition, this race guides participants through the developed Tampa Bay region instead of a remote trail. The course crosses Tampa, Safety Harbor, Dunedin, Clearwater, and the beach communities along Gulf Boulevard, transitioning from city streets to waterfront roads and Gulf-side locales.
The course is predominantly flat, with bridges providing the primary ascents, totaling approximately 1,165 feet of elevation gain. Runners encounter murals, public art, historical markers, older structures, parks, piers, beaches, and neighborhoods that offer a broader perspective of Tampa Bay than typical road races. Aid stations are located at Courtney Campbell, Cooper’s Bayou, Dunedin, Indian Rocks Beach, and Gulfport; the Dunedin aid station is hosted at a local runner's residence. Crew support is advised, and runners may also utilize local eateries and convenience stores. The Run Square app assists with finding pacers, crew, ride shares, and lodging.
