The Big Turkey Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K takes place on Thanksgiving Day at Oak Ridge Park in Union County, New Jersey. Runners can choose from three in-person distances on a recently designed park course, with virtual options available for the 5K, 10K, and half marathon. Now in its third year, the event is structured to allow participants to complete a race before the day's meals and gatherings. The course features largely flat paved paths winding through well-kept grounds shaded by birch, oak, and pine trees. The 5K offers distinct youth divisions for ages 7-9 and 10-13, enabling families to include the race in their holiday morning. The event embraces the Thanksgiving tradition of participating regardless of weather conditions, and all finishers receive a medal and a technical shirt. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each distance and age category.
