The Ice Weasels Cometh is a New England cyclocross race typically held on the second weekend of December, after the regular season has concluded. It directs riders through an icy or muddy field, contingent on the weather, and has relocated among several locations rather than maintaining a single permanent site.
The race originated from a question: what if cyclocross continued after the Rhode Island season finale? The initial concept came from the author and Linnea Koons, with input from Thom Parsons, whose grandmother owned a small farm in Wrentham that provided a potential location for the early race. Throughout its history, Ice Weasels has featured multiple co-promoters, five venues, and a standing within New England cyclocross as one of the more unconventional, less polished races on the schedule.
