Quarry Shack 5 Miler 6th Annual 10/31/26 2026

The Quarry Shack 5 Miler is a Halloween-night run and walk on the Ghosttown Trail - Rexis Branch in Vintondale, Pennsylvania. Both divisions cover five miles, and the event is built around running after dark: participants need their own headlamp or handheld light, because official lighting is limited to the registration and start/finish areas, with only some extra light on the course. The route is a closed out-and-back on trail, about 2.5 miles each way, with the turnaround a little past Red Mill Bridge. There are no road crossings or intersections, and one water stop sits under a pavilion near the turnaround. Costumes are encouraged, Halloween decorations are part of the setup, and staff make clear that no actors will jump out at runners or walkers. The race uses chip bibs with a mass start and chip finish, has a 1 hour 30 minute limit, and gives awards for overall winners and age groups in both the run and walk.
