The Petrified Pootle

The Petrified Pootle is a Halloween race held at Pengethley Manor, near Ross-on-Wye. Participants can choose from 5k, 10k, half marathon, marathon, or ultra distances. All runners and walkers share a seven-hour time limit, making the event suitable for those seeking a long off-road run or a shorter distance at a more moderate pace. The course is contained within the manor grounds, utilizing 2.5k laps. The 5k distance consists of two laps. Each lap features a hill and a section through two vineyards with varied terrain, meaning even the shorter distances require more than a simple flat run. Race bibs are collected at on-site registration. A virtual entry option is also available globally; virtual participants receive the same medal as in-person finishers, with an option for international postage.
