3ª Corrida Guerreiros da Caatinga

The Corrida Guerreiros da Caatinga begins at the CHESF dam parking lot in Piranhas, Alagoas, offering a 6 km road race. Held in early July with a morning start, this marks the third edition. COPES, the Companhia Independente de Operações Policiais Especiais do Sertão, is the organizer. The race features two 6 km categories: a general one and a specific category for security forces, which requires proof during kit collection. The organizer notes the Piranhas location presents a challenging course, suitable for a short race connected to the Sertão and dam area, distinct from a typical city circuit. Security force participants are integrated into the event's design, alongside the general category for recreational runners.
