Caranguejo Man is a triathlon series held in Aracaju, the capital of Sergipe in northeast Brazil. Races run along the Orla Por do Sol to Orla da Atalaia. It attracts beginners, amateur athletes, and professionals, with one stage drawing approximately 500 competitors from throughout Brazil. The event provides four distance options, allowing newcomers to enter a shorter race while experienced athletes can select a more challenging long-distance format.
The shortest course consists of a 400-meter swim, a 20-kilometer bike ride, and a 2.5-kilometer run. The most demanding option increases these distances to a 1,500-meter swim, a 60-kilometer bike ride, and a 15-kilometer run. The race utilizes Sergipe’s coastline and waterfront areas for its appeal. Organizers aim to foster triathlon growth in the state and introduce athletes, sponsors, media, and visitors to Aracaju. A subsequent stage also serves as a qualifier for the World Triathlon Long Distance World Championship.
