O wyścigu
The Winnipeg Pride Run starts and finishes at The Forks festival site in Winnipeg, east of Orientation Circle at Parks Canada. It is a non-competitive running and walking event with 3 km and 6 km options, open to all ages, abilities, and experience levels. The aim is not racing; it is showing up in colourful gear and moving together as part of Winnipeg’s 2SLGBTQ+ community.
Wally Mah founded the run about a decade ago, with registration growing from about 100 people to over 400 annually. Hundreds of volunteers help give it the feel of a moving Pride party, with runners, walkers, first-timers, families, and community supporters sharing the same start and finish area at The Forks. The Pride Moves theme fits the event: people come to run or walk, but also to be visible, cheerful, and part of the city’s Pride celebration.
