O wyścigu
The ENSINGER Laufcup takes place at Kelterplatz in Ensingen, a wine village within Vaihingen an der Enz, situated at the base of the Eselsberg in Stromberg Nature Park. This local running event features multiple distances: a 24 km trail run, the 10 km ENSINGER-Lauf, the 5 km GLS-Lauf, 1.5 km school races, and a short Bambini run for very young children. The main road races utilize a 5 km loop, with participants completing one, two, or four laps based on their chosen distance. Each lap involves approximately 44 m of elevation gain, offering a predominantly flat profile for the 5 km option.
The course winds through Ensingen's town center before heading into meadows, woods, vineyards, and rolling hills in an area sometimes referred to as “Swabian Tuscany.” A 1.5 km loop within the center provides a manageable course for casual runners, schoolchildren, and relay teams. The 3 x 1.5 km relay has been part of the event since 2013, catering well to corporate teams and local clubs. Vaihingen an der Enz also uses this event to determine its city champions across the 5 km, 10 km, and half marathon distances. The three primary races commence sequentially, ensuring a prolonged period of activity on the course, while local spectators, Guggenmusik bands, and drum groups contribute to the atmosphere along the streets.
