27. RC EDELWEISS Tour Taunus - Wetterau

RC Edelweiss CTF Wetterau Voge is a winter cycling tour in Frankfurt-Niederrad, starting and finishing at the Naturfreundehaus am Poloplatz. The event is also known as “Runde um den Frankfurter Flughafen,” fitting the day’s routes: riders select 40 km, 50 km, or 70 km courses that pass near Frankfurt Airport. It is a mass-participation off-road ride, not a closed-road race. Registration is available with or without the BDR Touren-App. The shortest route follows the fence of the airport’s West runway closely, while the longer options form a wider loop around the airport. The riding consists mainly of well-maintained forest roads and woodland paths, with brief sections of singletrack. No significant climbing or descending is anticipated. A capable mountain bike, gravel bike, cyclocross bike, or 25 km/h e-bike is necessary, equipped with reliable brakes and tires. The routes are marked with signs and chalk spray. Organizers emphasize cautious riding, as the forest is shared with walkers and is habitat for wildlife.
