O wyścigu
At the Auewald-Mannschaftslauf Leipzig, the key number is three: each team consists of three runners, and they must complete the entire 15 km together. The race takes place in Leipzig's southern Auewald, beginning and ending at the LVB-Sportanlage on Neue Linie. It has been held annually since 2000. This is a small road race, typically attracting around one hundred participants or fewer, giving it the atmosphere of a local club event rather than a large-scale city race.
The course follows a flat 5 km loop through the Auewald, which teams traverse to cover the full distance. The defining rule is straightforward and firm: teammates must start together, finish together, and remain within five meters of each other. This emphasizes pacing and cooperation as integral parts of the competition, not just the final standings. The organizer is the Laufgruppe der SG Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe, and the event provides online certificates and a refreshment station at the finish.
