O wyścigu
The Pirker GRENZErfahrung begins early in Pirk, Bavaria. At 7:00 AM, a course announcer counts riders down, and a starting gun signals the event's commencement. This road cycling marathon and RTF, organized by VCC Pirk e.V., attracts substantial fields for Bavaria, with up to 1,500 participants. Now in its 28th edition, it has the character of an established local event.
The primary marathon route covers 205 km with 3,150 meters of elevation gain, serving as the most sought-after course despite its difficulty. Additional RTF options include 175 km with 2,500 meters of climbing and 155 km with 2,300 meters. The event caters to trained road cyclists. In the prior edition, 1,355 riders registered; almost 300 completed the full 205 km marathon, with high demand for the three longest routes. Reports from Bayernbike commend the organizers, aligning with an event where the start, route options, and participant numbers suggest careful planning.
