It is a guided road run in Saarbrücken, Germany, usually held on a Sunday in late spring, with 10 km and 20 km distances rather than a standard half marathon format. The route runs through the streets of Saarland’s state capital and uses the city’s bridges and viaducts as the main structure of the course. The 20 km version has only two road crossings, which makes it unusual for an urban run of that length. Laufgemeinschaft Saarbrücken organizes the event, and the race is still described locally as young, with its appeal coming from the simple challenge of linking almost all of the city’s bridges in one run.
