Solingen

Solingen sits on the edge of the Bergisches Land hills east of Düsseldorf, where rolling terrain and dense forest make it a stronghold for road cycling and gravel riding. The Velo Solingen Radtourenfahrt and Adler Gravelride draw hundreds of riders through the region's signature 300–400m climbs and forested valley routes. Runners find the terrain more demanding than the Rhine flatlands to the west; the local trail and fell-running scene gravitates toward the Neandertal and Wupper valley systems just south.
