Odense is flat and fast for both disciplines, with the Odense River and surrounding farmland defining the landscape. Runners tackle the Odense City Half on a largely pancake course; cyclists use the city as a hub for Fyn's network of rural routes, with Fyn Rundt (189km, UCI 1.2) and Middelfart MCC Kvickly Løbet (85km) drawing serious racers across the island's exposed, wind-swept roads.
