Crono Cas Secretari is a short mountain time trial held in Alaró, starting and finishing in the Los Damunt area. It is the shortest race organized by the Sa Milana Club of Alaró. Despite its length, it is a demanding 6-kilometer course featuring 474 meters of elevation change. The event initiates the Balearic Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing’s time-trial schedule. Its format is distinctive, requiring participants to race both uphill and downhill, not solely to a summit.
The course proceeds towards the Sa Bastida water bottling plant, continuing along the Clot des Guix path to Coll de S’Era. It then crosses the private Cas Secretari estate en route to Es Rafal, reaching an elevation of 621 meters. At the highest point, a stone wall divides the Cas Secretari and Sa Bastida estates. From this summit, the race descends rapidly and steeply via an old charcoal burner’s path shaded by oak trees. The route passes behind the Mola de Sa Bastida, an ancient fortification, before returning towards the Bastida bottling plant. Quick competitors can complete the course in less than thirty minutes, indicating its direct and challenging nature.
