The Valencia Half Marathon, or Medio Maratón Valencia, is a late-October road half marathon held in Valencia, Spain. Its very flat course is designed for fast running. Nearly 22,000 athletes from around the world participate annually. The event is part of the SuperHalfs series, which includes Lisbon, Prague, Copenhagen, Berlin, and Cardiff. Valencia concludes the SuperHalfs calendar. The race has hosted the women’s half marathon world record, set by Letesenbet Gidey at 1:02:52. Alessia Zarbo also set a French record of 1:08:20 on this course.
The course connects the historic center with the maritime district, beginning at the foot of the Torre Miramar. Runners go by city landmarks such as the Museum of Fine Arts, Turia Stadium, Torres de Quart, Torres de Serranos, and the Palace of the Marquis of Dos Aguas. The Royal Spanish Athletics Federation rates it as Spain’s best half marathon. Its certified course, runner care, mild late-October weather, and the strong international fields explain its popularity among those seeking personal bests.
