Sobrescobio Redes Trail

The Sobrescobio Redes Trail is a mountain running event held in Ríoseco, Asturias, within the Redes Natural Park. The event offers races of varying distances, from approximately 18 to 31 kilometers. The SST Speed Trail, beginning Sunday morning in Ríoseco, covers 17.5 kilometers with 1,100 meters of elevation gain. This shorter race presents a challenging skyrunning effort, distinct from a straightforward fast trail run. The longer Skyrace extends to 32.3 kilometers, featuring over 2,100 meters of ascent and reaching an altitude of approximately 1,207 meters. The courses have direct, steep ascents, significant climbing, changes in pace, and technical terrain requiring careful footwork alongside pace management. The event is part of the Asturias Mountain Running Cup and the Gran Premio Caja Rural. The 32.3 km race is also featured on the Skyrunner World Series calendar. The Speed Trail includes a youth competition with the U23 Final of the Esteban Olivero Trophy. The elite field attracts notable mountain runners, including Luca Del Pero, Manuel Merillas Moledo, Antonio Martínez Pérez, Aitor Blanco Urmeneta, and Martin Nilsson.
