Corrida Appelouse takes place in late June in Firminy, a town in the Loire department of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France. Runners can choose between a 6 km and a 12 km race. The shorter option is designed to be accessible, while the longer one offers a greater challenge for more experienced runners. The event also features children’s and junior races, establishing it as a community running day rather than solely an adult competition.
The course combines urban stretches with paths through natural areas near Firminy. Younger participants have 0.75 km, 1.5 km, and 3 km races available. Adults can opt for the 6 km, the 12 km, or participate in a relay. Entraide Appelouse is the organizing body. Entry fees are kept low for the shorter races; children’s entries cost 3 EUR, the 6 km is 7 EUR, and the 12 km is 28 EUR.
