La Beuchigue is a cyclosportive held in Saint-Sever, Landes. It begins at the Arènes de Morlanne and concludes with a symbolic finish inside the arena. As the Landes region’s sole cyclosportive, it offers three routes: 145 km, 85 km, and a 50 km non-timed randonnée that accommodates electric bikes. The event is organized by Cyclo Chalosse Tursan, an association headed by Philippe Cazaubon. It is presented as a welcoming ride suitable for various skill levels, not exclusively for competitive cyclists.
The routes traverse the roads of Chalosse and Tursan, two regions of undulating countryside south of the Adour River. The more challenging courses include the steep local ascents referred to by local riders as Chalosse’s mythical hills. The newer routes extend further into Tursan while maintaining views of the Pyrenean foothills. Participants have commended the course quality. Organizers consistently introduce new elements with each edition, adhering to a straightforward format: multiple distances, local roads, and a finish within the Saint-Sever arena.
