The Paris-Roubaix Challenge offers amateur cyclists the chance to ride the cobbled sectors that give Paris-Roubaix its “Hell of the North” reputation. This cycling sportive takes place the day before the professional race, with three route options: 170 km, 145 km, or 70 km. Participants can choose a challenging taste of the course or a full day on the cobbles.
The longest route includes 30 cobbled sectors, the middle route has 19, and the shortest route features 8. All participants finish on the Roubaix velodrome, the same finish line as the professionals. Riders travel from across the globe, but the course uses roads open to regular traffic. Adherence to traffic laws is mandatory, and police may issue fines for violations. Some participants ride to support Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque, and tour operators offer packages including entry and lodging.
