Bari's flat seafront and grid-street layout make it a runner's city—the Bari Med Marathon and V^ Med Marathon both hug the Adriatic coast with minimal elevation gain. Cyclists escape inland to the Murge plateau, where the Gran Fondo Alberobello e delle Murge tackles 138km of rolling limestone ridges and whitewashed trulli villages 50km south, offering sustained climbs around 200–300m. The Race for the Cure 10km loop keeps local runners sharp between marathons.
