Nakanoto Treasure Trailrun 2026

Nakanoto Treasure Trailrun is a trail race held in Nakanoto, Ishikawa, within the Noto Peninsula’s Satoyama landscape, recognized as a World Agricultural Heritage area. The race typically features a 50 km long option and a shorter 25 km GOLD COURSE, allowing runners to select between a full day in the mountains or a more condensed route. It is produced in collaboration with Tsuyoshi Kaburaki, a prominent Japanese trail runner, and crosses rural Noto, distinct from a resort mountain setting. The long course measures just under 50 km with approximately 2,376 m of elevation gain, offering a 360-degree vista near Goishigamine. Participants will pass Noto’s sole remaining beech forest, ancient ruins, and Shutō-san, a historical site for mountain worship, all situated on the GOLD COURSE. Local residents line the route to support and greet the runners. The race also holds recent significance for the area, having resumed after the Noto Peninsula earthquake. One participant noted observing both the gradual recovery efforts and tangible signs of progress in the region.
