Amersfoort is dead flat with fast road cycling through the Utrechtse Heuvelrug nature reserve just south of the city; the Ronde van Ugchelen uses these quiet rural loops. Runners find the terrain equally quick on the compact ringroad and nearby parks, though serious riders head north toward Nijmegen (50km) where the longer Ronde van Nijmegen crosses the Waal.
