Hamar sits at the southern tip of Norway's Mjøsen lake, with rolling terrain that makes cycling the dominant sport here. The Hamarrittet (78km) and shorter 45km variant are the region's signature events, threading through forested hills and farmland around the lake basin. Runners have the Mjøsen Trail as their anchor — a 42km route that follows the lakeshore — while the H3 Vikingskipet Duathlon combines both disciplines on flatter sections near the Olympic speed-skating venue.
