North Texas Ultra is a trail race held in February in Jacksboro, Texas, at the North Park Unit of Fort Richardson State Park. The race utilizes the Fort Richardson State Park's Trailway and the Lost Creek Reservoir State Trailway, ensuring even shorter races are run on the same soft fine gravel surface as the ultras. The event is part of the Texas Ultra Series; finisher medals from the series combine to form the shape of the Texas lone star. Top male and female finishers in specific ultra distances qualify for the Big Texas Ultra 100K Championship, and a DFL trophy is awarded to the last finisher.
