The 1 Million Steps 2 Safety 5K Run/Walk begins at 7919 Independence Blvd. in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This 5K, which can be run or walked, is hosted by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission during Pedestrian Safety Month. On-site registration opens at 7:30 a.m., with pre-race activities commencing at 8:30 a.m.
The event focuses on road safety, not solely competition. It unites runners, walkers, and other road users to promote pedestrian safety awareness throughout Louisiana. Participants from across the state are welcome. The race includes a t-shirt and a finish line medal.
