2025 Hobo Day 5K

The 30th annual Bob Bartling Hobo Day 5K takes place in Brookings, South Dakota. The start and finish are located at 609 Medary Avenue, with the race beginning at 8:00 AM. Race-day check-in and registration are available in the Taco John’s parking lot prior to the event. Because the race is part of Hobo Day, roads north of 6th Street will be closed for parade setup. Runners not remaining for the parade should park south of 6th Street. The Prairie Striders Running Club, a Brookings club promoting running since 1969, organizes the race. They host events ranging from one mile to marathons. Each finisher gets the year’s commemorative Hobo Day 5K mug, offering a local keepsake distinct from typical race shirts or bibs. Packet pickup occurs the day before at Mills Construction. Race-day registration requires cash or check.
