2026 Moose Loop Trail Challenge

The Moose Loop Trail Challenge utilizes Anchorage’s 32-mile urban trail system, forming a moose shape around the city. This untimed community event spans a week in late summer, offering participants a choice of a 5K, 10K, Mini Moose 25.75K, or Mighty Moose 51.5K distance. Participants can complete their chosen distance by walking, running, biking, or rolling at their own pace. The event is designed for families, first-timers, children, regular trail users, and anyone seeking a relaxed opportunity to be outdoors before winter arrives. Adults pay a small registration fee, while children under 18 participate at no cost. All participants receive a digital bib and trail-themed merchandise. Proceeds from the event benefit the Anchorage Park Foundation’s initiatives for local parks and trails.
