2026 University City Turkey Trot

The University City Turkey Trot is a Thanksgiving Day 5K run/walk in Charlotte’s University City area, starting from 3024 Prosperity Church Road. It is a holiday-morning race for runners and walkers, with a one-mile fun run for children. The race is organized by Sickle Cell Partners of the Carolinas, and participation supports its work with patients and families affected by sickle cell disease. The event has been running for more than a decade. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes, with prizes for the best ones. Age-group finishers are awarded, and participants can bring non-perishable food for a food drive. The morning concludes with a post-race feast including food, drinks, and music.
