O wyścigu
The Camy 5k Run & David 5k Walk is a certified 5K in Walpole, Massachusetts, starting at the Walpole Italian-American Club on Stone Street. It takes place on the second Saturday in November. A kids’ 50-yard Rosina Fun Run begins the day, followed by the David 5K Walk, and the Camy 5K Run at 10 a.m. Runners and walkers use separate paths within the same community race. The course is USATF certified under number MA15011RN.
The race began in 2001 to honor Camilio “Camy” Clerici and his grandson David Clerici. Both were members of the Walpole I-A Society and died nine months apart. The family connection continues through the event: the kids’ run honors Rosina Clerici, Camy’s widow and David’s grandmother. The top David 5K Walk trophies honor David’s late parents, Frank Clerici Sr. and Carol Hunt-Clerici. The race has occurred annually since its inception, including a pre-vaccine pandemic edition that organizers noted as the only official in-person road race held on a course in Massachusetts.
